Answer: A good used Honda will go over 300,000 miles if you maintain it.

Question: What happens to the used cars that goes to big auction?
If the used cars are not sold within time at the Used car lot, they will go to big auction. What happens to the used cars when they go to big auction?

Answer: they get bought by other dealers at a low price they then put a little cash into it them resale it at there dealership
i've been to a few of these auctions you must be a dealer to enter these places i've seen people go in and buy 10 to 15 cars its crazy and all at dirt prices

Question: How can I find information on used cars that still have manufacturers' guarantees in the Philippines?
I have seen some US car magazines offering used cars but with manufacturer's guarantees. Is there a similar offer anywhere in the Philippines? If so, where and how can the information ba accessed?

Answer: Knowing nothing about the Philippines, I can't give you specific information, but I would go to any new car dealership, and ask this question. GM for instance, offers "Certified" used cars that are covered by their factory warranty.

Question: The best used cars for the environment?
I'm a college student planning on buying my first car. In the past I've only had hand-me-downs from my parents or borrowed their cars for things. Now I'm going to need my own car, but since I'm a poor college student I want to buy used. The trouble is, I also want a car that is better for the environment. Hybrids are expensive, so it makes the most sense to find a highly fuel-efficient model from around 2000-2002. What cars fit this description?

Answer: Flex-fuel ones(cars in actual production)

Question: What would be a good source to look for used cars in Toronto?
Any magazine or website which is recommended and that people use to advertise their used cars?

Also, do you know if canadian cars depreciate quick, meaning, if a car is model 2007 is it likely to be way more cheaper than a new one?

Answer: Check out lemonfree.ca and the Q 107 website, they have cars on there.

Cars drop quick, you will likely be further ahead for buying a 2007.

A 2008 Impala is $25,000
A 2007 Impala is $16,000!

That is $380 a month (including %7 interest) compared to $594 a month for a new one. $213 per month! Plus there will be a year or two of warranty on the car too! Don't forget the 2007 cars have been on the road since Spring 2006.

Question: What state do you think I can find nice used cars cheaper in?
I plan on importing a car in june or july to pay for my trip to whatever state I can find a car. What state do you suppose I can find quality used cars cheaper in ? Georgia , South Carolina , Florida , or North Carolina?
THANKS!

Answer: I would just go on lemonfree.com and there should be one for each state and you can look at all the used cars people post.

Question: What is the state limit for the number of used cars a non-dealer can buy and sell in California?
Hello. My dad and I are deciding whether or not we want to start a business. We want to sell used cars but do not know at what number we are required to be a dealer. Please help...thanks!

answer: I believe anything above 2 or 3 cars/ yr requires a dealers license. The dealers license is not difficult or expensive to get.

Question: What are good websites with user reviews on used cars?
I am going to buy a used car made between year 2000 to 2004. I checked Edmunds.com, which has some user reviews, but not many. Is there another website what has more user reviews than edmunds.com? Yahoo Auto only has reviews for new cars. i am looking for reviews on the model made before 2004.

answer: I would check out the car forums for the cars that you want to buy.
This site has formums for all major cars:

http://www.carforums.com/forums/index.php?act=home

Check out the postings and ask questions to car owners.

Question: Can you recommend good sources for buying used cars in Toronto Canada?
Any Canadian sites (other than craigslist that I am already aware of) or specific local paper you recommend advertising used cars? THANKS.

Answer: lemonfree.ca is a good source....

Two dealers that I have dealt with before that are decent service and great prices are:

Dixie 401 Automall (especially the Daewoo), and Focus on Value at Keele close to the 401

Question: A good website to search for used cars?
I need to buy an affordable, reliable used car with good gas mileage. It doesnt have to be huge or anything special. Any suggestions of where I can look for cars with valid info?
(especially online)

Answer: lemonfree.com

Question: Where is the best place to go for used cars in Southern California?
I'm looking for a used car for my brother, something gas-saving, like a 92+ Honda Civic, 94+ Honda Accord or 95+ Toyota Corolla. Something around roughly $3,000 and around 130K miles. Already tried Carmax but most of their cars are around $10K. Does anyone know of a used car place?

Answer: try lemonfree.com... or ask your friends and family, someone probably knows of a car

Question: What kind of license do I need to buy and sell used cars?
My dad and I want to be able to buy used cars at auctions and sell them to the public(not on a car lot) we want to just maybe sell a few here and there. What kind of license do we need and how do we go about getting it?

Answer: You need a dealer license. Check with your states DMV for the exact requirements in your state.

Question: Why are used car lots typically so much cheaper than pre-owned cars sold on new car lots?
I have been shopping for cars in the mid-20K's at used car lots, and it seems the same cars (make, model, features and mileage) are at least 20% more at new car dealerships. What gives?

Answer: On your next visit to one.Step back and look at the building who you think pays for that. And now look at the Clothes the salesman wear,Do i need to go on?

OH,If you check an owner that has one for sale, they will be cheaper than a used car lot.

Question: Does anyone know a phone number for people that buy used cars?
I am talking about those people who say that they "buy used cars, or trucks, running or not." I am looking to sell a 1981 Firebird, it needs some work in order to run well, but other wise, its good. I am looking to sell it for at least $3,000.

If you know of any number or person that buys old used cars, let me know!

Thanks.

Answer: Place a free ad on lemonfree or put it on ebay or there is always carmax.

Question: Are used cars with new engines considered reliable?
I'm looking at a 1997 Honda Civic with "new honda engine" that has about 20k on it; is it considered reliable in your opinion?

Or should I stay clear of new engines in used cars?

Answer: It's really the same risk as buying any used car.

I have a Freelander and the head-gasket blew at 42k so I had a new engine installed. It's been running excellently so there is no reason for me to question it's reliability (also it was fitted by an approved Land Rover dealer).

I would suggest that providing it was fitted by an approved dealer (you should be able to see documentation), that it will be fine.

Good luck!

Question: What's more economical? Always buying used cars, or driving a new car into the ground?
I have heard two arguments about the most economical way to buy cars over a life time. I've heard that if you buy a new car, never trade it in and drive it until the end of its natural life, you'll end up saving the most money in repairs. I've also heard that always buying slightly used cars will end up saving you the most money, (though you have to replace them sooner since they have less shelf life.) Are either of these theories true?

Answer: It really depends on a lot of factors, including luck. Generally it's best to buy a slightly used vehicle since technically nobody owns a "new" car. The second you drive it off the lot it's used. You can find a car with 20,000 miles on it for a few K less than a "new" one.

I have a friend that purchased an old Integra with 103,000 miles on it for $4,000. He now has 267,000 on it and has had no major issues at all. There are tons of examples like that which throw out the idea of having to buy a new vehicle. Generally speaking, smaller lighter vehicles with small engines last a lot longer than larger ones.
